September Updates

This fall is busy! Classes are in session, and things are moving here with the Center. We are busy pursuing meaningful engagement. Here's what we've been up to this summer and as we head into fall.

Powering Minnesota is Live

Please enjoy and browse our new site; it focuses on building career awareness and resources for educators across the state. We hope it makes it easier to understand what a career in our sector looks like and helps industry, educators, and students find what they need. We are adding careers, lessons, and programs regularly. If you want your business, program, or career featured, let us know, and we'd be happy to highlight the talent in our community.

Educators Equipped

Teachers were invited to E3 Nuclear tours with Xcel Energy, and we led the statewide STEM and CTE Externship Program designed to help teachers better understand energy careers and classroom learning.

MIEWI Call to Action October 20

Over the past year, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and Great River Energy have been leading the Minnesota Indigenous Energy Workforce Initiative, or MEIWI. This is an effort to synchronize and strategize with partners across the state and to meaningfully engage in the hiring and retention of folks from Minnesota's 11 Tribal Nations. We encourage you to add your voice to the conversation by registering for MIEWI's gathering on October 20.

Prepping for AMP CAMP

Adventures in Modern Power (AMP) Camp is an offering we plan to pilot in the summer of 2027. We are targeting middle schoolers in grades 5-9. We need your help to make it happen.
